Plagiarism
Plagiarism in your academic work can have serious consequences. The University's definition of deliberate plagiarism is "the fraudulent representation of another's work as your own".
Check out the University web pages on plagiarism to understand what plagiarism means and how to avoid unintentional plagiarism.
Find out when you need to include a reference, how to balance research and your own arguments, about working with other students and good practice in note taking.

Exam Study Spaces
Did you know there are
rooms available throughout campus for quiet study during the exam period?
Safety Bus Service
For students working late in the library or involved in out of hours activities, the Students' Union runs a Safety Bus Service that operates on the hour from 6.00pm until 11:40pm Monday to Thursday leaving from the back of the library.
Students can be dropped off at University Halls of Residence or private accomodation within a defined area, please see map (PDF, 274KB) for service boundaries.
As the bus can only take eight passengers at a time, priority is given to lone students. If you miss the bus or cannot wait for the next run consider phoning for a taxi from Yell Cars Taxi Service (tel. 0118 966 6555).
