At the heart of what we do
RUSU is a democratic organisation, and as such, it is determined to represent your views in our building, on campus, locally, nationally and globally. This is done through three primary routes: representation, democracy and campaigns.
|
Democracy and representation are RUSU's central principles and appear throughout the Union's structure. The Union is run by five Student Officers who are voted in by you, the students, in the annual RUSU Elections. Student Officers are questioned and held to account by the student membership at the Student Voice meetings and the Annual General Meeting. RUSU also collects feedback from students at the Services & Entertainments (Ents) Forum covering anything from the food in Mojo's to the entertainment at the Summer Ball.
As well as being represented by the Student Officers, students from minority and under-represented groups also gain further support via our Liberation and Representation Groups.
The Faith Forum provides an arena for students of all faiths and volunteering as a Community Rep can help build positive relationships between students and members of the local community.

Why campaign? Each year RUSU's Student Officers campaign on issues important to you in order to to improve your student experience whilst studying at the University of Reading.
Find out what this year's campaigns are. In addition to these issues, each term students can also nominate and vote for campaigns that they feel strongly about and would like RUSU to run and support.
If you want to get more involved, why not find out how you can make positive change by joining one of the Unions goups like the Green Team and Fairtrade Steering Group, who campaign on relevant issues all year round.
